Statement of Need (optional)
Note: This Statement of Need Form is OPTIONAL. Need is a component in determining which scholarship is to be awarded to a candidate who otherwise qualifies. It is obvious that extra funds are helpful even to the wealthiest candidates. "Need" as the committee views it, does not mean "inconvenience." It should reflect a situation in which assistance provided by KAOEF could be a vital component in whether to continue school or not. The neediest applicant, without the requisite academic and leadership record will not qualify; the most qualified applicant based on his academic and leadership records will not be disqualified because of lack of "need."

Provide, in the following space, a comprehensive statement of your financial need for asssitance by KAOEF during the following year. The fact that you anticipate graduate or professional school expenses in later years may not be used to support your need for the coming year. At least one letter of refernce should support your financial need if you are filing this Statement of Need Form.

Do you have a fund in your name or are you the beneficiary of a trust or estate or some other instrumentality whereby all or a substantial portion of your college expenses are met.
